Okay before everyone here comes at me with knives at my throat, I know this is quite controversial but in my opinion it is something that is the right thing to do.
Rape, a word that is now so casually thrown around because of the cornucopia of cases that have been coming up recently. Now we all know what an inhumane and gruesome act rape is and that is exactly why the punishment shouldn't be a death penalty. Executing someone who is convicted of rape is just giving them the easy way out of life and the sins they've committed. Executing the rapist shouldn't be considered as justice because the rapist will never get
to know and understand the pain and suffering that the victim has incurred. The psychological and physical damage that the victim went through wouldn't be justified by just hanging the rapist, it wouldn't be something that the victim would've wanted and by all fair means, it wouldn't be called justice. Instead of hanging the rapist and giving them the easy way out, put them in the overcrowded prison cells for the rest of their life where they can contemplate every life decision they've ever made and live with themselves after an act of such cruelty. The prison where they'd be raped every single day and then get a chance to reflect on what they've done and finally understand how the victim felt and suffered. In my opinion that would count as justice.
Thank you.
