(been sitting on this for months, guess i finally have an outlet)
to know what we're doing,
there has to be a limit to who we're fooling.
a certain finesse of approach,
a certain respect for ourselves
for pain is unique to our situations but that pain does not make us unique.
everyone has their hell,
in their lives it is the 7th circle
pain is at the level of the 7th circle in everyone's minds
for dante's inferno was not customised
nor a means to degrade others' pain.
others' pain that they rise above,
others' suffering that choose to move past
with only one assist - love?
viktor said humans' search for meaning can be found in suffering
but along that journey comes a realisation
that everyone walks the same path as you.
everyone walks down memory lane, through window panes whose shards never quite
leave your skin.
everyone feels regret of such magnitude that eventually -
their past selves stop making sense.
but do they need to?
you don't need to know why you did the things you did. or why you kept forgiving them despite all they did. maybe you were trying to see the best in them. maybe you were trying not to let your mistrust stem from those who'd wronged you before. maybe you were just lonely.
and you did well.
there has to be a certain finesse
of approaching these hard feelings.
for what makes us is that we all feel pain.
these hard feelings might be unique,
but you're just like everyone else.
